What is the purpose of this study?
The purpose of this study is to better understand adoptive families, their parenting experiences, and their child's development in the US and across the globe.
What if I do not reside in the US, can I still participate in the study?
Yes! This is an international collaboration! If you reside outside the US, is your country listed here? If so, go to that country/language page to find out about that version of the study (will contain the QR code and/or study link).

Am I eligible to participate in the study?
You qualify to participate in the US study if you:
Are 18 years of age or older
Are single or have a partner
Identify as any sexual orientation and/or gender identity
Have adopted a child who
is currently between the ages of 4-17
has no genetic link to one or both adoptive parents
Live in the United States (if outside the US see links in prior question)

How will my information be used?
Your information will be used in databases, summarized to be published in peer-reviewed journals, and presented at professional conferences. We will summarize the findings in a newsletter that will be distributed and posted on the study's website. No personal information will be used.
What if I am single, can I participate?
Yes! Both single and coupled individuals who have an adopted child with no genetic relation and is between the ages of 4 and 17 are welcome to participate!
What if I identify as gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, heterosexual, queer…can I participate?
Yes! People of all sexual orientations and gender identities are encouraged to participate!
Will you use any of my identifying information?
No! After you complete your survey, all identifying information (such as your email address) will be separated from your data and kept in a separate, secure location.
Has this study been reviewed by an ethics board (Institutional Review Board) in the US?
